Spirit Animals, Dreams and Prophecies

Spirit Animals, Dreams and Prophecies
~ Gwilda Wiyaka ~

Across ages and cultures, there are reports of white spirit animals being born to herald times of change. From the white buffalo calf to white elephants, these animals have been seen as sacred prophets by shaman and medicine people.

They purportedly come as power animals through shamanic trances, to tell the practitioner of their sacred duty to use their gifts on behalf of the people.

White Spirit animals come in physical form, or in visions and dreams, to forewarn those who could hear, about upcoming monumental changes and shifts of consciousness.

Such a spirit animal was born on a farm in Wisconsin, August 20th, 1994. Miracle, the Sacred White Female Buffalo Calf, was not an albino, and was considered to be the first true white buffalo calf born since 1933.  She was extremely important to the religious beliefs of many American Indian and Canadian First Nations tribes, as she played a pivotal role in the fulfillment of their most revered prophecies. She was seen as a symbol of hope and renewal for humanity, and for harmony between all peoples and races in our world today.

Why this cross-cultural belief in the sacredness of white spirit animals? Comparative mythology alone, indicates there is more to the legends than meets the eye. Are there really more white spirit animals being born now, as some reports indicate, or are there just more of us out there to notice them? How can we understand what they are trying to tell us?
